Important Information for Roger Casement Fellowship Applicants

You are applying for the Roger Casement Fellowship, which is part of the Ireland Fellows Programme and is specifically available to applicants from Nigeria. This fellowship supports one-year, full-time Master’s level study in Ireland in the fields of Law, Human Rights, and Governance.

✅ Programme Selection

  • You are required to identify up to three postgraduate programmes you wish to apply for, in order of preference, based on the official Directory of Eligible Programmes.
  • Only select programmes that align with your academic background and career goals.
  • You must not rely solely on the directory; verify current programme information and requirements directly on the websites of the Irish higher education institutions.
  • Do not submit applications directly to any college at this stage. If you are shortlisted after the interview stage, you will be guided to apply formally and the Department of Foreign Affairs will cover the application fees. If you apply beforehand, any fees paid will not be reimbursed.
  • If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to apply to two of the three programmes listed on your form. You will be required to accept an offer from the highest-ranked programme in your list if more than one offer is received, so please choose your preferences carefully.

🗣 English Language Requirement

  • All applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency. This is usually verified through an IELTS (Academic) test score.
  • While many programme-specific IELTS requirements are listed in the Directory, you must confirm the latest requirements directly with each institution.
  • If you do not already have a valid IELTS result, you are still eligible to apply. Further guidance will be provided to shortlisted candidates.

The Ireland Fellows Programme offers fully funded opportunities for postgraduate study in Ireland. Before proceeding, applicants must carefully review the Directory of Eligible Programmes and the Guidance Note for Applicants. You must ensure that your selected programmes are eligible and align with your qualifications and career goals.

  • Confirm programme details and requirements directly with the relevant institutions.
  • Do not apply directly to any institution at this stage. If shortlisted, you will receive instructions and the Department of Foreign Affairs will cover any application fees.
  • If multiple offers are received, you must accept the offer from the highest-ranked programme listed on your form. Consider your order of preference carefully.

  • Applicants must provide proof of English language proficiency, typically through the IELTS (Academic) test.
  • Programme-specific requirements may vary. Always verify the latest IELTS requirements directly with the institution.
